Baholo Motene player and administrator for Ldf Ladies will be contesting for the post of presidency in the Lesotho Women Football elections scheduled for Saturday 18 July 2020
Motene has been a very instrumental figure in the growth of women’s football in Lesotho, having have served different roles including playing for the women’s super league club LDF Ladies, a former player for the Lesotho women’s soccer team, serving as the team manager of the Lesotho senior women’s soccer team currently the secretary of the Women’s Super League.
In the year 2016 Motene managed to persuade Mr Ketsibile Phatsoane the owner of Likhosatsana Ladies FC to allow the team participate in the Women Super League, which had been formed in the year 2016. When Likhosatsana Ladies started playing in the Women’s Super league they changed their name to LDF Ladies and all administrative roles and issues including training were been conducted at Makoanyane Barracks.
Finishing the 2016-2017 season on third place that same season one of their player’s Ntsabeng Pelea was signed by a South African team Superstrikers Ladies and later been crowned the champions of the Africa Sports Academy tournament which was held in Mohale Hoek.
Winning the league in 2018-2019 season amongst many other achievement. In the outgoing board Ms Baholo Motene is currently serves as the secretary of the Women Super League. And on Saturday she will be contesting to become the president of the National Women’s Football Committee.
