The government of Botswana through the Ministry of Youth Empowerment Sport and Culture Development has wished the senior men’s national team the best of luck ahead of their forthcoming AFCON qualifying matches.
The Zebras of Botswana will play Zimbabwe this evening in Francistown, and later lock horns with Algeria on the 29th of March.
According to a press release from the Botswana Ministry of Youth Empowerment Sport and Culture Development, they are offering the Zebras an amount of P650 000.00 to be shared by the Zebras players and technical team as an incentive to qualify for AFCON 2021.
This is in addition to their regular remuneration for National Team duty.
“We hope that this will add to the motivation of the team to do their best and make us proud by qualifying for the finals for only the second time since 2012.” read a press statement from the ministry.
The county Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Hon Tumiso Rakgare will be attending the natch against the Zebras and Zimbabwe this evening.
