The first round of the African Individual Draughts Online League kicked off this weekend with close to 30 participants from eight countries participating.
Three Zimbabwean players took part in the first round of the online draughts league, and Clifford Tsamba together with Shepherd Manhanga won their first round games.
Tsamba defeated Ghanaian Owusu Stephen 3-1 whilst Manhanga also defeated Addai Frimpong from Ghana 3-1. Tonderai Mbereketo failed to pitch up for the games and therefore Ghanaian Owusu Edmond was awarded the winning points.
After round one Malawian International Master Enock Banda was siiting on top of the table after he defeated Mozambique Massada Hele four nil.
Zimbabwean Clifford Tsamba followed behind on position two. The international league was organized by African Draughts Federation in conjunction with International Draughts Federation.
Round two of the league kicks off this weekend and the online league is expected to run for six weeks.
