Malawi has converted one of their stadium into isolation centre to deal with an anticipated surge in coronavirus cases.
This follows the death of two government minister who succembed to covid-19 earlier this month. To date Malawi has recorded 23,020 cases and 643 deaths for a population of over 18 million.
According to Chakwera more than 50% of the infections were detected this month alone. This contributing to healthcare facilities to be “overwhelmed” by the surge.
Yesterday Malawi Minister of Health, Honorable Khumbize Kandodo official opened Bingu National Stadium as covid-19 isolation centre.
