Motocross sensation Tanyaradzwa Muzinda and Maka Chikowero who doubles as a swimmer and footballer have been nominated in the Young Achievers Award category by Zimbabwe Achievers Awards.
Zimbabwe Achievers Awards is an award ceremony that seeks to recognise Zimbabwean based in the diaspora for outstanding and notable achievements.
16 year old Muzinda has earned a reputation international for not only her exploits in motorsport, but also as a philanthropist. Tanya charity works has helped many underprivileged children.
She is a recipient of the Zimbabwe International Sportswoman of the Year honours in the United Kingdom Annual Junior Sportswoman of the year awards, among many other national, regional and international awards.
Maka Chikowero is a 16 year old and she is the founder of MTC Educate A Girl Inc. An organization that is uplifting rural girls with little or no financial support starting with access to education and participation in sport.
Under her leadership MTC Educate received donations of Sports Bra at the 2020 Wisconsin Women in Soccer Symposium and they were distributed to female footballer in Murehwa and Maningi FC girls team.
Last month Maka won the Chicago Red Stars #SHEINSPIRESME award she was also nominated for the International Children’s Peace award which is equivalent of the Noble Peace Prize.
The two have been nominated alongside Michael Jonga and Michelle Makai . Voting will be opened on the 28th of December and the awards will be hosted virtual on the 16th of January.
