The lockdown restrictions have forced the national sports association to embrace technology. The Hockey Association of Zimbabwe recently held an online hockey coaching course for beginners this past weekend.
Most of our participants believed that hockey is a complicated game, but after the course, they felt otherwise said Tendayi Maredza who is part of the Hockey Association of Zimbabwe coaching development committee.
A total of 26 participants comprising 5 females and 21 males participated in the association’s first online coaching course. We could only take in 30 participants for this course but a further 45 participants have been registered for the 2nd online course which we are likely to host sometime next month.
HAZ and its coaching development committee are planning to host more coaching courses this year and the dates of the courses will be availed soon.
The association thanked St John’s College Harare and Ariel School for their contributions towards developing the game of hockey in the country.
