Former Goromonzi High School girls rugby player Ropafadzo Mudyah has signed her first professional contract with the Boland Women rugby team.
Ropafadzo started playing rugby at Goromonzi High leading the girl’s rugby team to success at the Dairiboard Schools Rugby Festival several times winning the most valuable player of the tournament consecutively in 2017 and 2018.
Mudya was part of the 2017 Zimbabwe U-18 girls rugby team that finished the Craven Week unbeaten becoming the first Zimbabwean girl’s team to finish the Craven Week undefeated. She also featured for the Zimbabwe national sevens team that won a silver medal at the Hermanus Sevens (2019) in South Africa.
She also featured for Zimbabwean premier rugby outfit FS Raider and was part of the team squad that took part in the Tuks 7’s Invitational tournament. The Zimbabwean lock signed her first contract with Boland women’s rugby team.
Boland ply their trade in the South Africa Premier Division and had an inconsistent season only registering two victories in the last three games.
