Bulawayo Basketball Association technical member Sinda Mono was this weekend elected as the new President of the association.
Sinda was contesting for the President post against Theo Weale. Mono takes over the leadership of the association from Ernie Noble.
Mono founded the Sparks Basketball Club at Tshaka which won the Handicap Basketball Tournament in 1985. A couple of years later Mono was appointed as the head coach of Highlanders Basketball Club. And later moved on to coach Peking Stars and outgoing President of BBA Ernie was his assistant coach.
Francis Dube was uncontested for the Secretary-General post same applies to Reuben Mumbire ( Treasurer), Tino Gumbo ( Technical), Mrs. Tracy Phiri (3×3), and Mr. Xolani Botha ( Marketing).
Ms.Geraldine Chibonda retained her post as competition manager after gunning more votes than Mr.Ndumiso Mabhena. Langa Ndlovu replaces Bulelo Mangoma as the head in charge of the athletes’ commission.
Ms. Pretty Tinarwo failed to retain her post after Ms.Zanele Nzima was elected head in charge of women and youth. The AGM adopted the Secretary-General report of activities and financial reports.
They also approved a request from the City Royals Basketball Club’s masculine and feminine teams to join BBA.
