Zimbabwean international athletics Tino Matiyenga and Kundai Maguranyanga wrapped up their first indoor meet of the 2021 season in style.

After posting a personal best indoor time in the 200m at the Texas Tech Shootout in 2008. Matiyenga went on to break the Zimbabwe national indoor record in the 200m at the Texas Tech Invitational.

Young, Matiyenga outshined the field to win the men’s 200 meters 20.75. Tino won the 200m at the 2021 Texas Tech Invitational, running a well-timed race on the banked track to stamp his class.

In the process breaking the Zimbabwe national indoor record for the event. Highly touted freshman Gregory Robert was left back in 20.78 and had to settle for a second-place finish.

Kundai Maguranyanga, countrymen of Tino clocked the 200m mark in 20.95 for a fourth-place finish.

Last year the former Prince Edward High School student ran a personal best of 6.69 in the 60m at the New Mexico Team Open.
