A number of sponsors donated spot prizes to competitors after the race. And the day concluded with the technical officials gathering at a local restaurant to enjoy a well earned meal.
Under the backdrop of the pandemic which presented a unique set of challenges, this year has been a testing environment for all of the Tri-Zim team said Triathlon Zimbabwe president Dave Ellis.
After last season abrupt closure following the emergence of the covid-19 , Triathlon Zimbabwe leadership constructed a strategic plan to operate under the new norm. Rick Fulton worked closely with guidelines from World Triathlon and World Health Organization to formulate a comprehensive model, which has been implemented at the pool to navigate virus transmission.
This plan was endorsed by the SRC under strict guidelines and has allowed competitions to take place which is a credit to the sporting body. The last event of the year will take place at Smallbridge Dam in Penhalonga from the 12th to the 13th of December and is sponsored by Electrosales.
