Zimbabwe’s + 50 cricket team which is currently taking part in an Invitational Over 50’s Easter festival in Namibia won their first over-50’s match of the year yesterday.
Going into yesterday’s game Zimbabwe looked confident having won their first match which was a twenty over (which was a warm-up) with five wickets. For his amazing 44 runs not out Wayne Parham won the ‘Player Of the Match’ award.
In their first official Over-50s International of the year, guest nation Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field. Spence Garry, Ziehl Kenyon, and Tony Bartlett each took two wickets with all-rounder Mark Burmester, Rennie, and Lock each taking a wicket. In 45 overs Namibia where 140/9
Burmester was amazing with the bat and when Craig Evans joined him the two added 68 for the 4th wicket, with Evans hitting a 42 and Burmester bringing in 69 runs from 79 balls.
In 38.4 overs Zimbabwe we’re 141/5 comfortably winning the game by 5 wickets with 38 balls remaining. The second 45 Overs.
