Several Zimbabwe sports organizations yesterday joined the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in celebrating Play True Day, and encourage clean sport.
Play True Day has been celebrated since April 2014 by WADA and the anti-doping community worldwide. The day aims to raise awareness among athletes, the sporting public, and stakeholders about the importance of protecting Clean sports.
This year’s theme of Play True Day posed a direct question to all the stakeholders about clean sport: “ What does Play True mean to you?”
Zimbabwe Olympic Committee has been posting solidarity messages with athletes, coaches, sports federations answering the question on their social media channels.
Sports consultancy agency Amor’ Sports similarly joined WADA on their campaign in celebrating World Play True Day.
The CEO of Amor’ Sport Joyce Kapota believes that Play True Day is all about respect for self and others.

Zimbabwe PSL champions FC Platinum likewise amplified their voice in the fight against drug and substance abuse in our country.
” There is a rampant rise in drug and substance abuse in our country and COVID-19 has not made it easy for athletes. Drug and substance abuse is something bee have been fighting with and our hope is each of us is actively involved in the fight that is snatching away the life of some of our talented youth.”
