Four years ago Zimbabwean Hockey player Mazvita Mtisi joined Queens Field Hockey program under Queen’s University Of Charlotte’s.
A playing midfield and forward Mtisi has always showed class in the field of play, her career in hockey can be tracked way back to 2013 when she was named as Zimbabwe Schools hockey league most valuable player becoming the first student from Hillcrest College to win such an award.
In 2014 Mazvita caused an unforgettable upset to Bulawayo Dominican Convent when she scored a brace to help her team Hillcrest College win the Silver Girls tournament, that same year Mazvita Mtisi was awarded the prestigious Mark Manolios Hockey player of the month award and went to win the most promising player at the national golden girls tournament.
Currently the all time leading goal scorer with 88 careers points,35 goals and 18 assistance for the Queen’s University Of Charlotte’s hockey team. Mtisi will represent her university in the Division II Senior games on Saturday 23 November.
Speaking to the #SeekerOfAllThingsSports Mtisi said she was happy and ready to shine at the Division II Senior games ” It’s has always been my prayer to play hockey at a more bigger level and playing in the Division II Senior games representing the South Atlantic Conference makes me proud. Also remember these games are been hosted in conjunction with the Division II Field Hockey Championship therefore it will also be a chance for me to get scouted. ”
